This is a collection of neat and weird things I have developed with other people that didn't really fit in the other two categories. They are however worth checking out. Adobe Flash is needed to use most of them.

A small collection of some of the commercials and promotions I produced and directed early in my television career.

Besides being in charge of websites professionally, I have developed and maintained a number of sites privately. Here you can see some examples of those from over the years.

WEB DESIGN/DEVELOPMENT

A sampling of the sites I have designed developed over the years.

Mouse over the icon to the left to see a screenshot and a small description of each site.

A READING FROM THE BOOK
divider
Site I developed using the Drupal CMS. Supports multiple users and allows new users to sign up. Site allows users to post comments, as well as to post content.

Shamus O'Donnell
divider
Site I set up for a former coworker. It is in a constant state of "in the works". It is built on the Drupal CMS.

THE MAKING OF WOODSTOCK
divider
Video encoding and page coding. Photoshop files were created by the site owner and I turned them into working web pages. Videos on the site were transcoded to flash and made to run in pop-up windows.

SPRAY AWAKE
divider
Site designed by a graphic artist friend of mine, I then took his Photoshop files and made a working website out of them. This site was for the sale of Spray Awake, a hot pepper based energy spray.

POCKET PAIN DOCTOR
divider
Site I developed using the Drupal CMS. Its purpose was to promote and link to an app for reveling pain through the use of certain light waveforms.

CORPORATE CONSTIPATION
divider
This site was originally set up just as a blog, but then became a pitch site for the book Working Class Entrepreneur. I worked with the site owner as the site grew and changed from the blog to a full marketing tool for his book.

COMMUNITY CAFE
divider
Website for a local radio show that supported local artists. This site had a log in for the site owner for updates, as well as a user access area for site members to log in and download the show. These features were hand coded, there was no CMS used.

Grey Nuns
divider
One of my earliest projects. Site I revamped for the Grey Nuns of the Sacred heart. I took an existing site and redesigned and recoded it for them.

FUN STUFF
divider
A small collection of little fun things I have created either myself or with others over the years. They are projects that started out as a weird idea, which actually came to be. They were a lot of fun to make!

Mouse over the icon to the left to see a description of the item, click the icon to open a modal window with the fun item in it. Most of these require the Flash plug in. Sorry mobile users :(

CHEESE-O-METER
divider
Old school scripting (wrote it in the late 90s) for random image load on form submit. Could be done differently now, but this is up here to relive the funny.

THE BITTER BALL
divider
A "Timewaster" originally designed as downloadable exe files to be run on your desktop

Just what it says, it is a ball, and it is bitter, but it is fun!!

THE EXECUTIVE DECISION MAKER
divider
A "Timewaster" originally designed as downloadable exe files to be run on your desktop.

Are you a high powered executive? Do you hate to make decisions for yourself? Could a monkey do your thinking for you? Then this is for you!!

This is my personal favorite.

Don't click the WHAA? on the post it. It calls to something no longer in use and will now just crash the app.

BOUNCING SHAWN HEAD
divider
A "Timewaster" originally designed as downloadable exe files to be run on your desktop.

This is a friend of mine and the guys at the Idea Department. Hey, it's just fun!!!

BOUNCING IDEA DEPARTMENT LIGHTBULB
divider
A "Timewaster" originally designed as downloadable exe files to be run on your desktop.

This is the light bulb logo from the Idea Department. The organization that I developed these timewasters with.

This originally would run over your desktop on top of your icons.

SHAWNMAN
divider
This is really a beta item. There are some control bugs still in it.

This was made as a gift to co-workers for the holidays of 2007. It is a version of Pac Man, but with the IT guy as the hero and his coworkers as the ghosts. Instead of dots you have computer chips. The controls are a little rough, that is why you start with 30 lives.

BLUE ME
divider
Part of a mock website for the FYE character "Blue" when Blue was running for president. You could follow the steps and "Become the Candidate". The email function at the end no longer functions as the associated accounts no longer exist. A lot of fun to make!!

SHEEN-N-SAY
divider
While making odd flash items my friend Shamus and I wanted to make a See-N-Say but could never figure out what to put in it that would be entertaining. Then Charlie Sheen filled it up with goodness!

Spin the arrow with your left and right arrow keys, then click and hold to pull the lever.

MEDIA
divider
Commercials and promotions that I produced and directed during my time at WXXA-DT.

I wrote the copy for the talent, shot the video, and edited the video.

(Videos will not automatically play, you will need to hit play, but no flash needed! All HTML5!!)
